Overclocking extracts more performance from your hardware — with trade-offs in stability, longevity, and warranty.
Overclocking increases clock speeds beyond manufacturer specifications. CPU overclocking requires an unlocked processor (Intel K-series, all AMD Ryzen) and a Z-series or X-series chipset motherboard. GPU overclocking works on any card via software.
StealthMachines does not overclock customer machines by default — overclocking voids your warranty. If you wish to overclock after receiving your machine, please contact us first at 888.273.2440. We can discuss what's achievable with your specific components.
Modern CPUs (Ryzen 7000, Intel 13th Gen) have robust auto-boost algorithms that already push close to safe limits. Manual overclocking gains are often modest. Focus on memory overclocking (XMP/EXPO profile) first — this is lower risk and often provides measurable performance gains.
Most modern GPUs have significant thermal and power headroom. Overclocking via MSI Afterburner typically yields 5-10% performance gain at the cost of higher power draw and heat. Ensure adequate case airflow before overclocking.
You cannot overclock effectively without adequate cooling. CPU temperatures above 90°C under load indicate insufficient cooling for OC. Aim for <80°C under sustained load for stable long-term operation.
