Big Updates

The catalog is FINALLY being updated!  As of this writing, Enigma (Zen4) and Covert (Threadrippper Zen3) are back online.  The entire rest of the catalog will be fixed soon too and I plan on getting Shadow (returning January 2023), Espionage and our laptop line back online as well.  I’m even going to add an AMD EPYC line of server-ready workstations for the customer seeking the real deal visa-vi an old line that I’m recycling called the Rogue.

I have a confession to make: I haven’t been doing the best job updating the catalog these past two years.  And I’ll be honest, a lot of it has to do with the crazy world events which had occurred of late.  And some of it has to do with my own crazy life!

I’m not your traditional computer assembler.  Since 2004, I have been building really custom gaming computers for thousands of happy customers.  From literally running the business out of a closet in my early 20’s, to many dark and cold basements… in various building sizes from Harry Potter’s closet to a 2,000 S.F. warehouse for which I lived upstairs in the attic, this business really has traveled with me in my suitcase.  I once delivered a computer by hand to a customer in Puerto Rico during Hurricane Irene!  What a wonderful man he was, and what a wonderful life this is, you know?

This most recent adventure which I took StealthMachines on was to a cabin in the middle of the woods of Florissant, CO.  During that time, I was 100% off-grid for two years, and the internet out there (satellite) ran at a CRAWL.  So, it didn’t make much sense to keep the catalog up to date when I wasn’t really able to accommodate more than one or two customers a week.  I still took orders, but it was at my pace, and we usually just did custom quotes to get the job done.

I started two new businesses a few years back which also take up a lot of my time.  They are called zCHG and WeCharg, and I love them just as much as I love this business, but for different reasons.  To accompany these two businesses, I wrote my first book.

Oh and I’ve been HEAVILY censored these last few years by the likes of Facebook, google, Paypal, etc.  Facebook deleted access to ALL of my business accounts which had a small fortune of followers.  Paypal froze my assets for about six months.  Google stole a wad of cash in kind for fake clicks to my businesses.  LOTS of other strange happenings (a must read).  And in case you didn’t know, the media companies which syndicate technology here in the USA are all one big happy Monopoly family, and I wasn’t ever asked in their club!  I could go on, and on, and on regarding big tech censorship as it relates to my little custom computer company, but then I wouldn’t be able to continue to provide the best custom gaming computers on the planet, at reasonable prices!

Anyhow my most recent sabbatical is more or less over.  I’m ready to roll up my sleeves and go back to full production.  Now taking all orders, large and small, as I seek to lick my wounds from the crazy macro and micro events of the last few years.

I hope ya’all know how much I love you.  Without you, since 2004, NONE OF THIS WOULD BE POSSIBLE!  So thanks!  All praise belongs to the most high, whom I am 100% sure is responsible for the miracle of my friendship with all of you!  THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!

Your friend,
-Josef

So what’s the deal with Bitcoin mining?

Bitcoin is both simple and complex, depending upon how far down the rabbit hole you want to go.  Bitcoin itself was recently ruled by the federal courts to be recognized as a currency, which is fantastic news for the Bitcoin world.  It is not profitable, however, on a traditional gaming computer anymore.  That’s because the world of Bitcoin switched to ASIC mining some time ago.  Bitcoin is just the tip of the iceburg, however, in a world called “cryptocurrency.”  What’s a cryptocurrency?  Well, after Bitcoin’s success there were a great deal of Bitcoin successors, also called coins, which also can now be rightly be classified as currency.  Over 600 and climbing as of the writing of this article, in fact.

Cryptocurrency is really cool to us computer nerds, because, well, a lot of reasons.  For example:

  1. If you know which coins to mine and when, you can use a traditional gaming computer to make a lot of money.
  2. You can stack your graphics cards (up to six per rig) to double, triple, etc. your profits.
  3. Making the plunge into the cryptocurrency world gives you exactly the excuse you need to spend more on having the most powerful gaming computer money can buy.  Max out the processor, memory, and graphics cards, and you’ve got yourself a state of the art computer which has the potential to pay for itself.
  4. Why stop at one cryptocurrency miner?  Because these things tend to pay for themselves, we can help you build an entire farm of cryptominers which not only pay for themselves, but they are also very effective at heating your home!  Anyone who has ever experienced electric heat knows there’s no better way to do it, and those who’s electric heat is also a supercomputer know that they have found the holy grail of computing power meets utilitarian.

The list of benefits goes on and on, and is too big for this little article to cover entirely.  That said, here’s some more information for you…

As I said before, Bitcoin is hard to make money using a traditional computer.  Instead, the most lucrative alternatives as of the writing of this article are coins such as Ethereum, Zcash, Pascal, etc.  Since there are more than 600 coins, there are actually a number of ways to make money

  1. Websites such as Nichhash.com automatically look for the most lucrative coin to mine for and automatically mine for you on the fly.  New coins literally come out faster than NiceHash can keep up, but it is a nice option to have just the same.
  2. There are two sides to every coin: the actual value of the coin which is defined by the number of miners participating in the coin’s economy, and the speculators who prop up the value of said coin.  Since bitcoin is worth almost $1100 per coin as of the writing of this article, it’s no secret that this industry is presently BOOMING.
  3. Bots: the world of cryptocurrency is also the world of bots.  Bots that help you mine for coin, bots that help you trade coins just like the stock markets, bots that help you with fun ways to make money such as arbitrage.  Bots are cool!  And the very best bots often require a significant amount of computing power to do your bidding!
  4. StealthMachines specializes in cryptocurrency.  You don’t have to be a rocket scientist to get started, because StealthMachines takes all the guess work out of the equation!

So, if you’re thinking about getting a custom gaming computer or workstation and you can’t quite justify the cost, consider entering into the world of cryptocurrency.  You stand to make a lot of money just for owning one of the most powerful computers on the planet.  Win-win!

The Era of the Muscle Computer

Remember those cucustom gaming computer muscle carstom cars with the crazy big engines that were sometimes so big they would have to cut a hole in the hood to make it all fit?  Well, many of our customers do not, because that was way back in the 60’s!  Notwithstanding, the era of the muscle car was symbolic of cars which stretched the boundaries of conventional power.  Way more power than you needed, perhaps, but who cares?  If you owned a muscle car back in the sixties, or any decade since, you were/are THE MAN (or woman).  The same rule applies today for custom muscle gaming computers.

A new era of computers is upon us, and the only analogy which comes to mind in my restless sleep is that the muscle car of the 60’s is BACK… in the form of the modern gaming computer.  Boasting as many as six graphics cards, hundreds of gigabytes of RAM, SSD’s built into the PCI-e of any size and speed, a new generation of processors which will trump all predecessors, and motherboards with so many features that they might as well make your toast in the morning… what’s NOT to love about the modern era of custom gaming computers?

Granted, there is a lot of processing in the power of your hands these days in the form of high end laptops, tablets, and even cell phones, but the one weakness all of these devices still have compared to the modern desktop computer is the raw power, performance, and upgradability that a desktop can deliver over top of lesser devices.  Gamers who don’t do their research in this new era don’t realize when purchasing a lesser machine that computer game graphics up until this time were way behind.  Now that Virtual Reality is here, 4k is becoming the gold standard, and the XBOX no longer forces game developers to remain behind the times so that they can port their games to all platforms the game has changed.custom gaming computer cryptominer

That’s right: Xbox was holding us all back.  Because a new Xbox only came out once in a blue moon, brand new titles had to water down their graphics in order to just be supported by Xbox.  Not so anymore.  The latest generation of Xbox is more like a PC and less like a console, and blurring these lines has given the green light to game developers who for years have been forced to work with one hand tied behind their backs.

Whats-more, virtual reality and 4k gaming is actually pretty demanding of hardware, and so for the first time since the Xbox arrived on the scene it has been hardware, and not software, that has been playing catch up.  And that’s great news for anyone looking to buy a new custom gaming computer!  In other words, now is the perfect time to purchase a desktop.  Modern desktops are powerful, up-gradable, sleek, and I happen to think they’re also pretty sexy.  Regardless, it’s the perfect storm of hardware improvements coupled with software improvements that demand you get your PC current (and consider giving your pc some muscle) if you want to experience all that modern AND FUTURE gaming has to offer.
